OUR MISSION

Misfit Healing for the Wild, the Wounded, and the Becoming

Misfit Yoga & Meditation was born from a simple belief: wellness should be available to everyone, not just those who can afford a premium studio membership or who already look the part.

Founded by Johnathan — a licensed psychotherapist, Buddhist practitioner, and 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher — we bring together the science of mental health, the philosophy of mindfulness, and the practice of movement into a single, welcoming community.

We’re not about perfect poses. We’re about showing up — as you are, right now — and finding what your body and mind need today. New classes are added every week, and our Pay-It-Forward membership ensures that cost is never a barrier to practice.

Our Essence

Misfit Yoga, Meditation & Wellness is a nonprofit sanctuary for healing, restoration, and self-discovery. Rooted in compassion and inclusivity, we offer yoga, meditation, and counseling services that support the whole person, mind, body, and emotional well-being.

Our approach blends evidence-based counseling with mindful movement, breathwork, and body-centered practices. We honor the deep connection between the nervous system, lived experience, and personal growth, creating space for individuals to slow down, reconnect, and heal in a way that feels safe and supportive.

We believe that healing is not about fixing what is broken, but about understanding, softening, and transforming the patterns we carry. Through awareness and intentional practice, individuals can build resilience, find clarity, and reconnect with their inner strength.
